Approach life with boldness! The Spirit of the Lord lives in you!"
Romans 8:11 NLT
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us! Do we even know how much power is within us waiting to be released? We need to really believe this...the Spirit of the Lord lives in us!
So you say if this is true, then why is it that I still have desires to do what the sinful nature urges me to do? Glad you asked. You know a lot of the time we read the Word of God, but we don't believe the Word of God. We listen to the Word of God, but we don't receive it. We put the Word in our heads, but we don't let it get down in our hearts where it will transform us. We've got to come to the point of believing and knowing that the Word is the truth. If God's Word says that the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead lives in me, then I've got to believe that. Nobody can believe that for me. That's the starting point.
Okay, so I believe it, but I still have the desire to do what the sinful nature urges me to do. That's because we haven't taken the time to learn the characteristics or personality of the Holy Spirit and we aren't completely yielding. We must understand that the Spirit is opposite to all that is of the flesh. The Holy Spirit is more than an influence. The Spirit does not come to stimulate or emotionally move us. The Spirit comes to take control and dominate every part of our being. I thank God for Bible Study!
The Holy Spirit is the direct Agent between heaven and earth in this age. It is He that convicts of sin, regenerates, sanctifies, teaches, guides and inspires us. He renews, He sets apart, He brings forth truth and He guides us into becoming a new creature. That is why we need Him and more important we need to allow Him to govern our entire life. My brothers and sisters we cannot be elevated to where God is calling us if we do not allow the Holy Spirit to govern our entire life. We have to learn how to let the Holy Spirit manage, administrate and govern our entire life. The Bible says that when we
do this that the Spirit gives us life because we have been made right with God.
When we allow the Spirit of God to truly govern every part of us and every area of our lives the Bible also says in Romans 8 that we put to death the deeds of our sinful nature- giving us life! (That's the answer to the question posed earlier). It is time for the people of God to awaken ourselves to God. Meaning my soul is in alignment with the Spirit of God living on the inside of me, Who is dominating my life and to the flesh, I've died!
This is where God desires all of His children to be. That is why the Bible says grieve not the Holy Spirit. God loves us so much, and because the Spirit knows God, He is grieved when we reject Him, His guidance, His teachings and His love. When we rebel, when we do wrong and keep doing wrong, when He's pleading to us not to do things that are unholy. His love for us causes Him to grieve over our rebellious ways and the judgment that will come as a result.
So today the Spirit of God is speaking and He wants you and I to be who God created us to be. He desires us to have what God wants us to have. He's pleading to us to do what God has called us to do and He's saying that we can't do it without Him. He's saying that a little bit of us won't do, and limited access for Him won't do. He says He needs ALL of you. He has a job and just because we've given up, doesn't mean that He has given up. He is saying He's not a quitter and neither are you. He's ordered by God to do His job and that we can enjoy life and live holy right now, if we would just allow Him to have complete control.
Father, I hear you today...show me what I'm missing, what I'm not comprehending, help me to get it in my spirit and allow it to awaken whatever is lying dormant in me. Father, whatever it is You have for me, I want it! Whatever it is You desire for me, I want it! Whatever Your will is for me, I want it to be my will! I want to be a yielding vessel unto the Spirit of God in every area of my life, everyday of my life and I will be! Fill me Lord, fill me...In Jesus Name, Amen!
